How we compute this
For each source we start from ₹ per 20 g of protein at tier-2 (base) prices, then scale it by your city tier's food multiplier — tier1 ×1.15, tier2 ×1, tier3 ×0.9 — since quick-commerce and metro retail run higher than smaller cities, and loose kirana staples often run a little lower.

Questions people ask
It genuinely varies by diet type, city and the week's prices — eggs, soya chunks and dal are usually near the top for veg and eggetarian diets, but the exact ranking shifts. Use the calculator above with your own diet filter and city tier; it's sorted live from current prices rather than a single fixed claim.
